So the information in the book is relatively good. That being said, the book is soft cover. For $40 you think you could get a hard cover. Open the book up and 90% of the pictures are terribly faded and low quality. Almost like out of an old newspaper directly from 1940. Very difficult to see the processes. Again you’d think they could have used a photo shop program to make higher quality for the price.

I never really got to read it. It was left on the top of my mailbox and it got soaked during the thunderstorm. I returned it and hope I will be able to use it.

Good thing it’s everything she used to say, because I lost too many of those skills living a life of convenience. This book is great, it’s almost like my grandma’s talking to me. Did I mention its in color? Not only does it give you tips on easy to make essential foods, preparation and storage, you can find a section in the back that talks about re-packaging, spoilage, and even temperature for your food storage.

I just love this book. It combines tons of recipes, food storage information and prepping steps in 1 easy affordable book. Things like; smoking meats and sausage, dehydrating foods, preserving cheese, identifying plants, buying food storage affordability in 52 weeks, making and using ghee and lard, how to use salt to preserve foods and so much more.
