It’s a pretty simple machine, though before I got into the groove of using it I was wondering if I was better off doing it all by hand. The simplicity here, in other words, requires a fairly set way of using it, and doesn’t brook much improvisation.
So, in a nutshell – I started off with precut wonton wrappers. Some experimentation may be needed as to size in your kitchen, but fortunately the only ones I could find at the store worked well. The biggest hurdle here is sticking – the molds work BUT there’s a bit of a line here between too lubricated and not lubricated enough. Again, experimentation. And then there’s the filling, which impacts use…too much and it won’t seal properly.
Instructions are of limited help in my opinion, but really – it comes down to understanding the foibles of the machine. And that’s something that, while understandable, really keeps me from loving the thing. I like simple non-fussy things, and while I won’t say this is intolerably fussy, I will say that it requires a little more attention than what I’d consider normal.
Once I got into the groove though, it did perform well. I was able to produce a fair volume of product, a volume which ended up being too much for me to eat in one sitting. I’d say if you’re in that zone, have a friend pull you out after about an hour.
It’s a decent product, one which I like…now that I’ve gotten to know it a bit better.

I saw this on instagram and immediately had to have it. I thought this would save time and make some awesome shaped dumplings. You do still need to use water to get the wrappers to stick. Also, you have to use an absurdly small amount of filling, otherwise it just squishes out when the dumpling is made.
I ended up hand making after 5. Thinking of using these for filled cookies though.
bottom line- cool idea, time saver not so much

Sorry, the machine didn’t produce attractive dumplings. The filling always got squeezed out along the seems. And, the dumplings come out in irregular lumpy shapes. Extra effort was always necessary to pinch the seal and manipulate the shape. It’s quicker when I manually made the dumplings myself.

Useless

I tested this out with store bought wonton wrappers which were square shaped. I feel round would work better, but they mostly came out great. The top part would just miss sealing completely but was easy enough to pinch closed. It’s pretty fun to use. The crimper holds the wrapper and provides a small indent to fill. It takes a few tries to figure out the right amount of filling to use. Too much and they won’t seal, too little and you got a half empty dumpling.
Occasionally it would just stop halfway and reject a dumpling for seemingly no reason. Seems like the motor does struggle to turn and seal the dough when it seems like it shouldn’t require much torque to seal. When it does work it always felt like the crimp could be a little tighter. This wasn’t a huge problem but a little annoying. You could usually reset the crimps and retry and it would work. Still would be much improved if it had enough torque to really press the sides together. Maybe my store bought wrappers were too thick.
This appliance is battery powered which is kind of strange at first. I don’t typically expect to have to charge a kitchen appliance before using it. However after it was charged I found not having to deal with a chord let me place this in center of my counter island in a much more convenient place that if I had to plug it into an outlet. I actually came to really appreciate the fact that it runs on battery. That said they only include a USB charger and not a wall plug which is a little annoying because again you don’t typically expect to charge a kitchen appliance via USB.
Overall I had some fun with this and we made some really tasty dumplings. It’s not something I see myself using everyday but when I see it in my drawer I always think “I should make dumplings again soon”.

This is such a cute idea. It is as described and pictured. I also use it when making empanadas but I wish that it was more adjustable/flexible for different size dough. It’s also a little tricky because the dough sticks to it if it’s not greased enough and can be difficult to remove. The price point is good and it’s good that they offer a coupon. lI would recommend for any home kitchen or professional use. It was also make for a charming housewarming gift idea.

Pros: Convenience way to make crab rangoons, pot stickers, dumplings, or mandoos, highly suggest utilizing circular rangoon wrappers for any of the types of wraps listed. Cheaper pricing in comparison to competitors. make sure you oil up the turner… or else it’ll be a mess ;).
Cons: Weak motor. Have to re-pinched from time to time. Non stick coating on the roller would be nice to have..

Don’t bother with this. You can use your hands and make a better dumpling yourself.

Great machine. My kids love to help make dumplings not that we have the dumpling maker.

So the cut outs were not to size so I used a cutter I had on hand. I used this to make pierogies and it made the process so much faster and my kids got to help with pushing the button. It closed them with ease and honestly I love having this!!! It’s also easy to clean and charge lasts long.

Doesn’t work waste of money

While this machine appears to be a good idea, the size of the dumplings are so small. We made empanadas and it took forever due to the tiny amount of filling used. We bought pre-made rounds but had to re roll & cut them to size. The turning mechanism often got stuck or just backed itself up. This item may be better for dumplings with thin wonton skins. I’ll be looking for something larger & manual for empanadas,

I recently got the Electric Dumpling Maker, and it’s a game-changer for dumpling enthusiasts like me! The automatic easy pour function makes crafting perfect dumplings a breeze. The included empanada maker press, dough cutters, spoon, and brushes add a creative touch to the whole dumpling-making experience.
This machine’s two modes cater to various filling preferences, ensuring efficient production without sacrificing taste. Forget the hassle of manual kneading – this Electric Dumpling Maker is a time-saver, ideal for those who struggle with traditional dumpling-making techniques.
I love that it properly seals the dumplings, preventing leaks during boiling. Plus, it’s easy to clean with its strong waterproof feature – just rinse it with water! Whether it’s for a holiday party or a cozy family dinner, this automatic dumpling maker has become an essential kitchen tool in my home. My family and friends now get to enjoy my dumpling-making skills hassle-free. Highly recommend!

We have always enjoyed consuming dumplings but have not been a fan of making them. Individually stuffing and folding the wrappers to create a good seal on the dumpling is a chore on its own, specially when prepping to feed a large family. I needed help, and got this device. This is a small device and at first glance, it almost looks like a toy. However, i was surprised after it made it so convenient to make dumplings. So make and prep your stuffing, and open up your dumpling wrappers!
It took a few tries to get comfortable and adjust to how much filling it can take. It doesnt take much when compared to hand made dumplings. You really cant fill it to the edge. To us, it almost created a “one bite” dumpling vs 2-3 bite dumplings (just for comparison). This device does put a good amount of pressure to seal the edges. I tried both ways, one with out using any addition of water and cornstarch on the ends, and both came out well sealed during the boiling. As far as looks, hand made of course is nicer. Once you are used to this device, it does come out consistent. However, there is a larger “lip” vs filled area. So after you cook and boil it, there is a lot of flappy edges. Just not as clean to look at when served on a plate.
The device is not fully sealed and is made of plastic housing the are screwed together. I find this concerning since it is exposed to a “wet” environment while in use and for cleaning. instruction does warn that some areas are to be wiped only. The mold is not removeable for cleaning, so it requires a lot of care during cleaning to ensure not to get any water to the main body of machine.
Runtime was not an issue. I had it fully charged prior to use. I made about 100+ dumplings and the machine had no issue.
Overall, I do like this machine and will help me feed my family by making dumpling much more efficiently. However, when it comes to making dumplings for others, i will revert back to making it by hand for a better visual look/presentation.
