The Traction Force is subject to various factors, including the material's composition, the surface area in contact, surface softness, traction direction, temperature, material thickness, evenness, friction levels, and more. Quality, such as rust resistance, and size, encompassing thickness and total area, also play significant roles.
Handling the large magnet requires caution due to its immense strength to prevent injuries and magnet damage. Care must be taken to avoid pinching fingers or other body parts between two attracting magnets, as this could cause severe harm.

I acquired this magnet for when I’m outdoors and working with tools. Dropping drill bits or screwdriver bits into tall grass is a frustrating task. Using this magnet with the eyelet lets me sweep the ground for fallen objects.

In fact, I had a metal splinter that stuck into my finger. I pinched my skin, and I was able to pull out the splinter with the magnet.

This is a very strong magnet so be very careful. It is a tool, not a toy. If you’re close to a metal cabinet, be careful.

This magnet has so many uses you’d be surprised why you never got it sooner.

I was skeptical thinking this was one of those China Hoaxes but I was wrong. These things are super strong. I don’t know if they will pick up 300 pounds but they do pick up more than I can lift. I stuck the magnet to an I-Beam and could not pull it directly off. I even had trouble sliding it to get it off. Also I thought the dollar bill trick had to be a magic trick, like laying the dollar on some metal filings: I was WRONG. It will actually pick up a Paper Dollar Bill. HOWEVER every video I watched about magnet fishing off a pier, they all found at least one knife. All I found on my first trip was 6 fish hooks, a Miller beer bottle cap and a can top. There were other small pieces of wire that looked like they could have been old fish hooks a long time ago. Well I am impressed with this magnet and would recommend it

I introduced my nephew to magnets and iron fillings when he was 2 or 3 yrs old so he could visually magnetism work, he’s 7 now and still asked me to make iron fillings. But I thought this would be money well spent. I let him test it in the garage he couldn’t decide what to try first and went straight to the workbench and stuck it to the vice. I wish I had it on video we needed a large screwdriver to get it free.

Sturdy eyelet and strong magnetic field. I highly recommend this. It has tons of uses and utility. Picks up nails, finds wall studs, retrieves metal items from under water and in crevices, holds metal when welding, gate keeper, refrigerator super magnet, magnetic camera base, holds my tools when on a ladder, …
So many uses I highly recommend it.

Be extremely careful if you order more than 1 of thesem i ordered two, and from a distance of about 12 inches apart they pulled together and pinched my shirt. Tried getting them apart for about 40 minutes, and ended up ripping my shirt trying to get them apart. I then hooked them up to a winch on my 4 wheeler and the front of my jeep and backed up with the jeep slowly. To my shock the 4 wheeler started dragging accross the ground. I dont think these magnets will ever separate now. So be extremely careful, i was extremely lucky it only caught my shirt and not my fingers or skin.

This magnet doesn’t seem as strong as they claim. but I was aware of that from other reviews. It still works better than what I had for picking up debris around our shop.

It’s definitely super strong and it was exactly what I was looking for.
I had to replace my refrigerator door handle coz it broke, I had to replace it 3x and same thing kept happening, so I decided to go a different route that’s why I purchased this magnet.
Now I no longer have to replace the handle, the magnet is strong and does not slide off.
    Problem solved!

Very fun to use, I like to put the kitchen knives on it so whoever decides to cook has to do battle with the magnet. Other than that, great for magnet fishing.

I use mine for construction above ceiling and hold lights and extension cord up with it. Welding wires too. Very strong. This is a nice quality item.

Screw in magnet body was loose but has not come out . super strong on flat surfaces but not so much on round or curved ones . Had to slide it off to remove it so do not stick it to any surface you do not want scratched .

Don’t get your finger caught under it! I used it for a magnetic mount for an umbrella for work. It’s awesome.

My boys want to magnet fish. The only thing this really sticks to is thicker large metal objects. They said they will still use it but only cuz they dont wanna wait for a new one.

Also the ring easily twists off.
    My expectations were higher.

Update: After only two uses for magnet fishing it has started rusting.

Magnets are an oddity but it’s properties are a force that makes everything we understand and have no clue about function. Now these magnets are fine for everyday task of holding things up on the fridge and anything magnetic. Strong enough to hold several pounds but it varies on a few things.
Like any magnet, anything between them that isn’t magnetic will reduce its attraction strength the thicker or denser the more it will affect it, so keep that in mind when purchasing any magnet. Then some metals can increase its attraction/repelling when put In between or on the back side. You can try random metals and see if it works it might be the boost needed to stick well. Another thing is the size and thickness of the actual magnets makes them stronger but not always stick better. The amount of surface area is a big factor in how well the magnets work. Put a flat magnet on a round object where all edges are not able to make contact and you can pull it right off, then put it on a flat surface and now you can’t even budge it! You will need to slide a thin piece of plastic under or slide it to the edge and expose some of the surface to remove it. And watch out for bigger magnets because they like to bite!
So ultimately when deciding what magnets to get look at what you need it for and then think about how much you are going to be sticking and unsticking it. Small magnets might be better for objects that are moved around often and hold better than a big one if it’s in full contact. A large thick magnet would work for holding something that you don’t want to move but might need to eventually. And again make sure the whole surface can make contact for maximum strength which means pick the size for maximum surface contact not just bigger surface area and the thicker the magnets the stronger the grip! So pick accordingly depending on the object and magnets shape and size to make full surface contact. Those reviews that say the magnet isn’t very strong are often because they took a giant magnet and put it on something either oppositely charged but more likely half the magnet wasn’t in contact and therefore easily separated a fill contact makes it 500x stronger(maybe exaggerated but does). Anyway I rambled on enough in this dummies guide for picking magnets By a dummy. (There are tons more on magnets but not today)
Oh and these magnets are fine one star is lost because they came with a few small chips but nothing that effects them really. I’m painting them all now with epoxy or enamel paint. That’s what I recommend for protection and stopping the rust.

Magnet strength isn’t even close to 100lbs. I would estimate it to be a lot closer to 35lbs on a good day with an ideal vertical static load and no shear at all.
As for the amount of weight it can hold on a vertical metal surface – because the load will pull unevenly it’s likely it will only be a few pounds if your trying to suspend it from the included eyelet (though that is of good quality, and I did like the stainless steel shell that protected the Neodymium magnet, though it may give some the impression the actual magnet is larger than it really is), if trying to hold something between the magnet and the steel surface, if it is very thick, very slick, or blocks the magnetic field significantly then if your trying to hold more than 4-5 pounds it might be likely to slide down. I did buy these to help secure a fabric car cover down – and for the most part they work ok at doing that, but in spots where they may be loaded I have to double them up to ensure they don’t slide around or off.

These seem well made. I am using some as hooks inside metal buildings and some I don’t put the hooks on them and have super glued them to red , yellow, and white lights to be used as emergency lights for older tractors , trailers that have been abused by cattle etc. and other uses. These magnets hold on tight and are doing well.

We have these on our fireplace to hold our screen in place so the baby can’t get to the glass, they work perfectly. Only need 1 magnet on each side then we have a latch tied onto screen to be able to disconnect easily.

Ordered to hold up a 16′ x 7′ Christmas banner on our two car metal garage door. Wanted something that would hold the banner on during wind and rain, and also when door goes up and down. These magnets do the trick.

We ordered this type with the eyelets in case we wanted to tie the banners’ built in strings to the magnets, but decided to just put the magnets directly on the banner instead and didn’t use the strings. The eyelets come in very handy anyway as they make it much easier to pull the magnets off the door and move them. They are very strong and it would be difficult to pull them off without this “handle”.

Deducted two stars from “sturdy” because we did drop one magnet onto the concrete driveway and it broke into a couple pieces. To be fair the manufacturer warns you that this can happen because the magnets are thin/brittle, and they don’t recommend dropping them on concrete!

We liked them enough we ordered a second pack.

Ordered for refrigerator magnets. So strong it scratched the paint trying to move the magnet to a different position. Very impressive strength for the price, but I had to order magnets with 50 pound strength (which works) – I’m keeping these for the garage though…

I use these very strong magnets to hang keys and office products like scissors and metal rulers. I use the tin Christmas boxes to hang clutter instead of a messy drawer. These magnets seem to not slide and can me trusted. I have recently used them for a fishing expedition to pull out some screws and a tool I dropped behind some drywall. Worked great!
